About

I'm an Animation Professor at LUCA School of Arts, campus C-mine in Genk, Belgium. I teach at the Re:Anima Joint Master in Animation and I'm a senior researcher at the Genk Research Unit, in the 'Critical reflections of and through animation' cluster. My research interests include philosophy of Technics, power relations inscribed in and reinforced by technical objects, and decolonial perspectives in animation. Previously, I was an Animation Professor at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), in Brazil. MFA and PhD by the Graduate Program in Arts at EBA/UFMG. I'm also a free software advocate, animator, rigger and I also like to code. You can see some of my works and know a bit more about me at:

Old Blog

Yes, I had a blog. Haven't updated it since 2011. Anyway, if you need something from there I have kept backwards compatibility and you can read it below.

2008-Oct-13: Done! :)

Man... another month without posting. But now (really) I'm back to regular writing here.

I've finished this week the Animation Personal Trainer with Keith Lango. It was fantastic, and I've learned a lot. Soon I'll bring you more words on it and my final animation, which is rendering right now. :)

While it isn't ready, here goes a cool link about the story of Emud Mokhberi, one of the makers of the fantastic Gobelins short Oktapodi.

Hey guys, thanks! ;)

@Pablo: well, the APT is the most affordable online course on animation that I know. The thing that makes it more expensive for guys like me and you who live in countries with not-so-strong currency is the fact that the payment is in US Dollar. $995.00 USD to be precise. :)
But I will write a post detailing my experience, and I can say in advance that it totally worth it! I even want to save some money to make it again in a near future.
