About

I'm an Animation Professor at LUCA School of Arts, campus C-mine in Genk, Belgium. I teach at the Re:Anima Joint Master in Animation and I'm a senior researcher at the Inter-Actions Research Unit. My research interests include philosophy of Technics, power relations inscribed in and reinforced by technical objects, and decolonial perspectives in animation. Previously, I was an Animation Professor at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), in Brazil. MFA and PhD by the Graduate Program in Arts at EBA/UFMG. I'm also a free software advocate, animator, rigger and I also like to code. You can see some of my works and know a bit more about me at:

Blender Animation Book

I've written a book about Rigging and Animation in Blender for Packt Publishing. You can get the files here.

Old Blog

Yes, I had a blog. Haven't updated it since 2011. Anyway, if you need something from there I have kept backwards compatibility and you can read it below.

I found this website called xtranormal.com which has a slogan: "If you can type, you can make movies."

I don't agree with that statement at all, although I think they've accomplished an interesting system (from a developer point of view).

But in order to make a movie, or an animated movie in this case, one needs MUCH more than the ability to put his/her fingers on a keyboard.

I made this movie their system as a joke to show how much I disagree with their statement:

"Ok - one smart guy can say - this is a movie."

But it is a very crappy one, don't you think? :)

Hauhauhau. é muito feio. Parece playmobil.kkkkk

Hey guys, thanks for the comments! :)

@Rodrigo: cara, eu não sei sobre o curso online deles, mas te digo que o professor de animação de lá é um cara que sabe bastante e tem muita experiência.

@ Maxwell: credo. Não gosto nem de lembrar do Ratatoing. Aquilo é de doer. :)

@ Kernon: I'm thinking about dropping Blender and using only their system. :D
