About

I'm an Animation Professor at LUCA School of Arts, campus C-mine in Genk, Belgium. I teach at the Re:Anima Joint Master in Animation and I'm a senior researcher at the Genk Research Unit, in the 'Critical reflections of and through animation' cluster. My research interests include philosophy of Technics, power relations inscribed in and reinforced by technical objects, and decolonial perspectives in animation. Previously, I was an Animation Professor at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), in Brazil. MFA and PhD by the Graduate Program in Arts at EBA/UFMG. I'm also a free software advocate, animator, rigger and I also like to code. You can see some of my works and know a bit more about me at:

2009-Mar-11: Up

I know you have probably watched the new trailer for Pixar's Up.

I also know how redundant it seems to say that something from Pixar is brilliant. Sounds like "free gift" or "unconfirmed rumor". But this trailer had something above the usual jaw-dropping eye-candy: the dog's animation.

Fantastic. Since Remy on Ratatouille I'm not that amused by a character animation from Pixar.

And now, for justice, I'll press [Enter] a couple of times to get this piece of art a bit further from my humble work on the last post:

Esse trailer é ótimo.
Eu tinha visto uma outra versão no cinema (mais curta), e vendo agora em HD .. wow

Não vejo a hora da estréia!

You mean you're embarrassed by the comparison? A team of five and a turnaround of five days?!!!

Also, Pixar work looks like Pixar work. I'd rather watch something you've made, and be amazed.

@Dalai: Também tou contando os dias... =) Vi outra versão no cinema também, em 3D antes de Coraline. Acho que esse filme no cinema 3D deve ser o máximo! :)

@Nigel: Wow... Man, I'm flattered by your comment. Really. Thanks a lot for that! ;)
